A: Can't find anywhere saying it's milspec but guessing it is since it's considered for M16. It is a full auto bcg. Hope this helps.

A: Yes, this will fit and function just fine. You'll get the hang of it. My best advice is to buy an ar15 and slowly upgrade all the parts until you have a completely different rifle. Keep all the old parts and by the time you're done upgrading your first one you will have enough spare parts to build another one and you'll learn every part of the firearm in the process.
