I purchased the Auto...
I purchased the Auto Ordnance Thompson SBR through Bud's and they processed the order and shipped it quickly. It arrived at my shooting range where it's being held while my federal tax stamp paperwork is being processed. However, I am able to go to the range and shoot it. The first outing was fraught with failures to feed. It'd shoot twice and jam once; then jam twice and shoot once. I'm pretty sure this was due to the gun being tight and only had 50 rounds (Fiocchi) to put through it. A follow-up session with 250 rounds went better—the failures to feed diminished but were still present. On a third trip I ran almost 400 rounds; while still a handful of failures to feed, things went smoother. I suspect a little more shooting and a hotter ammo (such as American Eagle) will help. There was one major cosmetic issue which was the hand guard. The one on my gun was very ill-fitting; the front end drooped away from the muzzle end to the tune of about 1/2 inch. I looked at the stock photo on the Auto Ordnance website and compared it to mine and they were not the same. I sent photos to Kahr Arms (who own Auto Ordnance) and they agreed it was "out of spec." They are now in the process of sending me a new hand guard. Hopefully this will fix the issue. All in all I'm pleased with the quality of the gun...hand guard notwithstanding (not sure how this obvious issue slipped past the quality control folks).
