I wanted an optic that was light in weight and fixed power. The Leupold had a great reputation and after researching it against other scopes decided to go with the Fx II 2.5. At 8 ounces it's very light and compact, the glass excellent, and the quality that has become expected with Leupold is built into this model as well.\r The scope is simple in concept and excellent in its execution. \r \r I feel I made a good choice and have a scope that will be handed down to my grandchildren one day. The quality is there and the price paid I think is a good value. \r \r This Leupold is a winner. If I need another one for another application I will buy it again.

My beginner's...
My beginner's marksmanship, at the age of 68, has been so-so with the iron sights on my new CZ 455 Scout. To correct that, I considered either a receiver sight or a low power fixed scope to be my best options. While Skinner and Tech-Sights offer good products for my rifle at less than half the cost of this scope, I felt my tired old eyes still might not be up to snuff. Have to say that the sight picture offered by even a low power scope such as this is so much more "confident" than the irons were for me that the enjoyability factor alone makes this a good choice. Targeting results are bound to follow . . . Also, for any with similar equipment, I was able to use Talley rimfire low rings and get about 1/8 inch clearance from the bolt to ocular with the scope mounted about as far forward as possible (just forward of the bolt rear when locked up). Such is the generous eye relief of this scope and its modest dimensions.
