Very nice looking...
Very nice looking handgun. The fit and finish while not perfect is quite good. The action is smooth and well timed. I was pleased with the accuracy when I took it to the range. It shot better than I did. All in all for the price point I felt like it was a good value.

I am generally very...
I am generally very happy with this Pietta Revolver. It shoots well and has little recoil when loading 38 Special. 357 target rounds let you know you changed ammunition. However, due to the weight of this firearm...the hotter loads are manageable. My 357 mag Colt Viper in comparison, really beats my hand to a pulp. The 1873 is fun to shoot especially in combination with a winchester 1892 lever action of the same caliber. It looks good and feels great in the hand. Only disappointment is in the fit and finish. The wood stocks are lovely, but you can definitely feel where the metal and wood come together. The good news is that this happens mostly between the brass and walnut. I may sand the edges of the wood and polish the brass in the future to get a better fit. Beyond that, the exposed metal work is nicely finished. However the interior of the frame is fairly course in it's machining. This can snag rags and patches when cleaning up. Biggest gripe is the gritty feel of the cylinder pin. It takes quite a bit of effort to remove and replace. Oil and a mildly abrasive pad will be my solution. Same with the ejector rod (gritty in operation). Overall, I like the execution of my Uberti 1873 in 45 Long Colt better. However, at a couple hundred bucks less...the Pietta represents an excellent Value and the minor coarseness should soften when fully broken in. Thank you Bud's! Always a pleasure shopping on your site.
