I bought this for my collection of my 22's mainly for the 25 rd mag. I bought 3 more mags. I shoot mini mags and have a great time at the range with no issues. Great Plinker ! Thank you BUDS !

"You get what you pay...
"You get what you pay for........." Well that's certainly true in this case. I was looking for a low cost rifle good enough to plink around with and get my daughters familiar with handling and firing rifles. What I got was a piece of junk that literally had parts falling off it (front sight assembly) before I even got it to the range. I couldn't seat the supplied magazine without using more force than I'm really comfortable with and once I got it in, getting it to release was even worse. If I could give it ZERO out of 5 I would. Many people will say "well, what do you expect from a 150 dollar rifle?" Honestly I at least expect it to work and/or not fall apart. Right now, it's a club not a firearm.

Great rifle for the...
Great rifle for the money. While asking around about a .22 rifle, of course everyone told me to get a 10/22. Of course ended up opting to save a few buck with the Mossberg and was not disappointed. This rifle has its detractors, people saying it isn't reliable, the 25rd mags don't feed well (most agree the 10 rounders are fine, but every review I saw cautioned against the 25). But I took the chance on both the rifle and mag and it worked out well. I've only had a few hundred rounds through it, but got through all of those with only maybe 1 or two malfunctions (which as we all know is not uncommon with rimfire). The things I think made it work so well is 1. I immediately did a deep cleaning and lube when I picked up the gun and I keep it clean and well lubed. I can't say as I didn't try, but I've heard it can be very unreliable if you try to shoot straight out of the box. 2. I use high velocity ammo. It has worked well with CCI Mini Mag and Federal Automatch. As the .22lr is designed for semi-autos, I think a slightly hotter round helps with more reliable feeding. The only bad thing I can say about this purchase are the magazines. In my experience, the 25 round mags feed just fine, but they are a PITA to load. The first 10-12 rounds go in no problem, after that it can get tricky. The included loader helps, but even with it, the last 3-5 are a struggle. I have had them loaded to capacity and they shoot fine, but just for ease at the range, I typically only load 20. Didn't take off points for the difficult loading though, as this is a review on the gun and it is easily available with a 10 round mag. Would definitely recommend this rifle to a rimfire shooter on a budget.
