A: Doug, unfortunately this is common with slugs, no matter the brand. The softer the lead, the more fouling. You may want to try something like Dyna Tek bore coat kit, (although not sure if they still make that exact brand) it can eliminate or greatly reduce all types of fouling- $45. Then use Slick 50 aerosol spray. The key to non fouling is a very smooth barrel with a mirror like finish. If you use any kind of treatment make sure the barrel is clean first!
