The CVA Hunter rifle...
The CVA Hunter rifle in 45-70 arrived very quickly, good work as usual Bud's. The first impression is quite good for a very inexpensive item, locks up tight and fit and finish all exceed expectations. Fits me well as it arrived.\r \r I was disappointed by someone who used a picture of a rifle with base AND rings in the product description, see the illustration above if it appears with the review. There is a base included but NO rings as pictured. Please correct this error. Oddly the base supplied has holes for 5 screws but the rifle only has 3 tapped holes to mount it. Will see if this arrangement is secure. Two of thee three screws were tight to torque spec, one slightly under.\r \r The trigger is much better than expected and the main reason I chose this item over the much prettier Henry single shot. It may be one of the few triggers I will not feel the need to tinker with. I agree fully with the positive reviews of the trigger I found during research before my purchase.\r \r First rounds out of the rifle using two separate brands of left over 405 grain lead loads placed holes about 1" apart rifle, resting on sandbags, as I grouped the scope sight to shoot where I point. A Slug gun sight with long eye relief is a good idea as recoil with these loads is acceptable but will get worse with hotter loads as this is a light rifle.
