I really like my...
I really like my optima v2 50 cal! This is my first muzzleloader so I am learning all about powders, caps, powder and cleaning. I like the stain-less construction, especially in the bore as this will help reduce rusting and pitting. I paired mine with a vortex scope with 4 inches of eye relief but the recoil really isn't a problem, in comparison it doesn't kick as bad as a 12 gal pump. When it comes to cleaning the breech plug it's easier than most Muzzleloaders. You take the breech plug out and back in with your fingers, just make sure it is clean and you put anti-seeze on the threads when you assemble it. Muzzleloader's season is 2 weeks before gun season in my state, My CVA Optima V2 lets me hunt before the deer get spooked.

The Optima seems to be...
The Optima seems to be a really great middle ground between the cheapest line of muzzleloaders and the expensive tier. The accuracy of the rifle is outstanding. The trigger is one of the best I've used. Practically zero creep on the trigger and it breaks at less than 3 pounds. There may be more accurate and longer distance muzzleloaders available but not near this price point. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend CVA rifles to anyone.

My favorite rifle....
My favorite rifle. With my eyesight starting to fail, I needed to get a muzzle loader that I could mount a scope on. I bought this one because it was on sale and hoped it be as accurate as a more traditional muzzle loader with a 30 inch barrel. I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy with 50 grains of powder and round ball, I had 3 shots cloverleaf at 25 yards shooting from a bench. Offhand, I was able to hit a 6 inch plate at 50 yards on the first shot. Looking forward to getting some aero tip rounds and seeing what I can do at 100 yards.
