Thanks Bud's for the free and fast shipping. The gun is everything I imagined it to be, a new beautiful DeerHunter rifle. Bud's had the best price around and shipping was fast. If you are looking for a great muzzle loader rifle, this one has the best of the old and new, with a durable synthetic stock and fiber optic sights. The sights really pick up light well and work great. I highly recommend Bud's and Traditions Muzzle Loaders. The only con for this rifle is it has a very small ding on the barrel, easily fixed with a little blue and sand paper. It is such a small ding that unless I pointed it out you wouldn't notice it. These guns are work horses not safe queens anyway.

Out of the box, the...
Out of the box, the hammer and nipple are misaligned enough that of the 4 caps I have snapped on it, only 2 actually fired. The trigger pull is also Ridiculously Heavy- I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but it's really hard. I have a Deerhunter I built from a kit in the mid 90s that has been a good rifle, and I expected at least that much from this. Nope. I'm calling Traditions in the morning and it's going in to them-- without ever being loaded and fired. A disappointment.
