Magpul M-LOK Rail Cover Type 2 AR-Platform in Gray is a low-profile, two-piece set that installs directly onto compatible M-LOK aluminum hand guards. The TSP (Trapezoidal Surface Projections) texture adds grip while keeping the rail coverage tight to the hand guard for a clean, controlled hold.

Easy to use and they look great. Provides a good grip. I can't speak to heat shielding because I only have them on a .22 AR style rifle.
