A: was there any paperwork with the barrel to tell you who made them if so I suggest that you contact the barrel manufacturer for his suggestions if not I would contact Buds customer service (859) 368-0371 available 9AM to 9PM EST Monday through Friday). A: The hesitation to go all the way into battery is probably caused by the barrel link of some part of the barrel fit that's dragging just a bit. You can also try some different recoil spring weights to see if it corrects the issue. A smith may need to check function with the suppressor attached. There is a possibility the barrel may be out of tolerance so Buds or the Manufacturer may be able to help or replace it.

A: If you are having problems with this hitting the "guide rod" as you say I would suggest trying it with the original shorty guide rod and end cap setup which does not protrude when the action cycles and cannot hit the can.

A: It will Dave. Same barrel lug setup and profile of the original barrel. Of course the maker has a disclaimer that " minor fitting" may be required.

A: there is no such thing as a drop in part for a 1911. It may work but it will need fitting to be right and lock up correctly

A: Yes Steven, this will be a "drop-in barrel for the vast majority of Government 1911's. Of course, due to variations in pistol dimensions, minor fitting may be required for installation in a low number of 1911's.

A: I haven't installed a barrel yet that was truly drop in on a 1911. You notice the barrel doesn't have a link. There are different length links depending on the gun. That section of barrel will also likely need cut with a tool made for it. I would suggest doing a little research so you know what is involved. Brownells website has articles and videos on the subject. YouTube is another source of information. You can also get videos from AGI or Wilson Combat on building 1911s.
