Put this slide on your frame and you have a 5" ported slide and barrel on your M&P. It's a S&W OEM kit and works well.

If you are thinking...
If you are thinking about purchasing this, do it! Significant reduction in muzzle rise and felt recoil. As another reviewer mentioned, no recoil spring assembly so use what you have or buy another. I haven't mounted Red dot yet but plan to in a couple weeks. Good luck!

The 5" Performance...
The 5" Performance Center Ported CORE Slide Kit is overall amazing. I bought it for my 4.25" M&P and it's easy to drop on and go play. I keep an optic on the 5" slide and use the 4.25" for carry. Be advised that you will need to buy a recoil spring as the kit doesn't come with one. Also, for the Apex striker block fans, it is easy to install as the rear sights are moved back for the optic cut, leaving the striker block covered by the optic or cover plate. The kit comes with the optic adapters, but no hex keys, so be aware of that as well. If you are wondering what the difference between the mag safety and non-mag safety slides is; it is only that the non-mag safety slide has the warning printed on the slide while the other does not. There is no other difference. So do what you want with that tidbit of information. Lastly, from my research, only Dawson Precision makes replacement suppressor height night sites for this slide and they are special order. I won't be replacing the sights, because after a box of ammo, the front sight is covered in carbon and solid black from the porting (which works noticeably well). Go ahead and pull the trigger on this kit (pun intended). You won't regret it.
