Q: Will work on the 590 shockwave?

A: Putting a stock on a Shockwave would be considered manufacturing a short-barreled shotgun and necessitate an ATF Form 1. If that is part of the plan, then yes this product will fit.

Q: will this fit a Rock Island Armory VRPA40?

A: No, not without modifications and fitting, this takes Benneli style chokes, and other RIA VR Series magazines, but that is the only cross-platform compatibility that I could find.

Q: Does the buffer tub help with the recoil and can it be upgraded

A: Hi Raymond, this is supposed to help with recoil. The stock includes the X Series Recoil Reducing Pistol Grip which has a slim ergonomic design, recoil absorbing backstrap, and the Sure-Grip texture for increased control. The X2 Recoil Reducing Butt-Pad has an upgraded 1-1/4" thick pad, reduces recoil, & muzzle lift. It is mil-spec, so it can be upgraded. Stay safe & have a great day!
