The hype is real. Many of us probably have seen this buttstock on many rifles over the years, and it's without a doubt one of the popular ones right up there with magpul and BCM main buttstocks. This has nothing new to be honest but it has simplicity in terms of installation, adjustment and disassembling. There are 2 storage compartments on the buttstock, left and right. These storage area's are marketed as battery compartment for you lights/lasers and optics, but they can be used for other items such as maps, cleaning supplies, spare parts etc.\r \r The retention for the storage areas is very strong, also water proof. It will take some use to loosen up the access. I personally submerged my SOPMOD stock filled with CR123 batteries and a city map in a bucket of water for 1 week, and no water contaminated my items after I checked. The Cheek well in my opinion is what sells this buttstock for me. It's like a dog resting his head on his masters lap, very comfortable. The QD mounts are secured so no rotation after you insert a sling point. Go ahead and buy because you won't find a better price online.
