I have had other...

I have had other Limbsaver recoil pads in the past and purchased this recoil pad to help reduce the recoil on my AR10 with a Magpul STR stock. I expected a simple installation of removing the 2 butt plate screws and then simply attaching the recoil pad with the same screws. My experience was that the existing screws were too short if the butt plate was left in place. But if longer screws were used then the recoil pan and butt plate did not mate up well. Leaving the butt plate off would allow the screws to work but the fit between the stock and recoil pad require some grinding and file work to mate to my satisfaction. I have not yet had the chance to go to the range and see if the pad functions in reducing recoil. At this point I am disappointed that for the price the fit was so poor. While the fit might be fine on MOE and CTR model stocks I wouldn't recommend it for the STR model. Bud's service was excellent as always.
