I purchased a Keltec...

I purchased a Keltec SU16C and the only muzzle device it comes with is a thread protector. 5.56 recoil is not particularly debilitating, but I still wanted to reduce it as much as possible for my old shoulder considering the hard unpadded butt the rifle sports. I also felt muzzle flip might be an issue considering the firearm weights only 4.7Lbs. Installation of this break was easy. I simply screwed it on until it stopped at the three o'clock position. I put a layer of electrical tape on the break, grabbed it with a box wrench and cranked it up to the twelve o'clock position. Nice and tight and no damage to the part. 20Lbs of torque? Who knows? Given a choice between exact torque and getting the device straight I'll take straight. I do know the break is plenty tight. I took the rifle to the range and emptied ten 30 round mags. Recoil and flip weren't eliminated, but they were minimized and the brake didn't budge. Side benefit: With nothing but a thread protector on it the rifle looks unfinished. This good looking break makes it look complete. You do not get a face full of fumes with the brake forcing gas angled to the rear, but I'd say the rifle might seem a bit louder although it's hard to tell when wearing proper PPE.
