This is a great...

This is a great product, but I deducted one point because it does not have an option to deactivate the laser. I'd rather knock off only 1/2 of a point for that, though. If you are holding your pistol, the laser automatically comes on by a contact switch on the front of the grip where the middle finger rests. If there is a situation that calls for you to keep your exact location hidden, you do not have the option do deactivate the laser. This may not matter to you, and it probably doesn't for most people, but a cop would probably need the option. Some of Crimson Trace's other products (such as the one I have on my 1911 .45) do have a seperate on/off switch in addition to the contact switch on the grip. That said, the most important positive for it is the the way it maintains its zero. Once it is set, it stays set, and seldom needs adjusting. Even after sending a few dozen P rounds downrange, it holds its aim. Adjusting elevation and windage is very easy, When it is removed to replace the batteries or for cleaning the pistol, you use the included tiny, 0.05in Allen key/"hex wrench" for adjusting. It includes a spare, but if you lose them, Crimson trace will mail a new one at no charge. It also includes two lens cleaners and shims if needed for a good fit. However, of the five different CT grip-based lasers I have installed, II have never had to use them. Perfect fit every time. If having the laser come on when you draw and hold the pistol is not a concern for you, rate it 5 stars. I have used five different Crimson Trace sights for three different pistol models (Glock 19 & 26 plus a standard 1911 .45), and I have been very pleased with all of them.
