I bought a Beretta...
I bought a Beretta 92FS in order to adapt it for possible bulls-eye shooting. I made a number of adjustments to the pistol, including installing a lighter hammer spring and installing thinner grips. But I still had to deal with the installed sights, which could (with difficulty) be adjusted for windage, but not for elevation. In addition, the sights were "combat" sights, meaning that the point of aim was at the top of the bulls eye, rather than at the bottom, where I'm used to aiming. Even aiming at the top of the bullseye, I was shooting low. So I decided that installing a green-dot sight would fix those problems (and also help with my aging 73-year-old eyes). I've never installed a red- or green-dot sight before, so I asked for recommendations from my gun range and also did research on the internet. Because I wanted to use the sight only for the range and primarily for competition, the Holosun Competition sight kept coming up on top of everyone's recommendation list. And they were right. The viewing window on the sight is large and you have three options for the type of sight picture you want to display. Since I was normally shooting at 70-75 feet, the bullseyes were fairly small, so I opted for using the single dot sight, which works very well for me. The green light is very bright (and can easily be adjusted for higher or lower brightness) and installation was very easy. Holosun provides the necessary tools for installation and tightening and provides good instructions on how to secure the sight so that it won't come loose after firing. In short, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and, assuming that competition and range firing is your primary purpose for your handgun, the Holosun Competition sight is an ideal solution.
