I really like this...
I really like this pistol. I bought mine when it was offered with a $150 rebate. I have mostly a good opinion of this pistol. Mine has about 250 rounds through it as of now. I can tell you that this pistol does not like lighter loads. This pistol was adopted by certain military units across Europe and because of that, I believe it is sprung for the pressure of 9mm Nato. The good of this pistol is that it is reliable when used with decently pressured ammo, it comes with 3 separate 22 round magazines with baseplates to accommodate that round count. These magazines are only for 18 rounds I believe, and Beretta added the baseplates with the 4 rounds extensions to them. You can see it marked in the witness holes on the back of the magazine. The sights aren't anything to write home about, they're functional and sized for suppressor height use. The barrel is threaded and has a nice crown to the front of it. It has a good picatinny rail, I have put my Streamlight TLR1 on it and it fit nice and firm. My 2 main gripes about this pistol are how hard the takedown lever is to manipulate, and the last gripe is the biggest one, the trigger. The trigger on this pistol is not a good one. It isn't heavy per se, but not light. It has a lot of creep in it, a stiff pull weight at the wall and then it breaks. The reset is tactile and audible. This pistol also has a series of backstraps to accommodate different sized hands. The grip surface on the pistol has a fair amount of grip. I wouldn't say you would have any issues holding onto it with gloves or with it being wet, but I would say it's not as aggressive as other makes and models of pistol. All in all, you get incredible value for the cost of the pistol. I would recommend it for a good carry pistol but be aware of it needing hotter ammo to function well, and that crummy trigger. I have seen a company or two selling spring kits for the APX to help with the reliability with normal ammo, so that is something you may look into if you are that worried about using lower pressured ammo. The trigger, I am not sure I have seen anything to fix that. I would recommend just shooting it and getting used to it. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either.

Great looking handgun...
Great looking handgun from Beretta. Fit and finish is very well done. The firearm points naturally and is much lighter than expected. The Beretta APX A1 tactical isn't as hard to field strip as one reviewer complained about, just takes practice to properly manipulate the controls. Service from Bud's is top notch as always.
