I'm a sucker for...
I'm a sucker for 1911s. I do like some polymer pistols, but I love all-metal guns more. I especially love carry-size, American-made 1911s like this Colt Combat Elite Defender. One requirement I have for my 1911s is an ambi safety. If I ever need to shoot left-handed, I'm going to be glad it's there. Plus, 1911s with ambi safeties just look much better in my opinion. You don't have that weird space that looks like something should go there. I was always a fan of the regular Colt Defender, but I never pulled the trigger because it didn't have an ambi safety. So, when I saw that this Combat Elite Defender had an ambi safety, I immediately bought it. It's a beautiful gun. Typical top-notch Colt craftsmanship. The look of the polished flats and blacked-out rounds is hot. The Novak nights sights work great. The weight of the gun helps with the recoil. The front strap checkering helps your grip. It's easily concealable. I love everything about it. I'm even considering getting the Commander version. As always, Buds had it in stock and at the best price. They've been my go-to for a long time, and that'll never change.
