This is my CZ pistol....
This is my CZ pistol. However, I own several other firearms with a wide variety of brands and I'm not a new shooter by a long stretch. I'm very surprised to find many inconsistencies with the Rami. First, the 10 round magazine rattles once it reaches the seventh or eight capacity of rounds. The problem is resolved by bumping the mag, on all sides, several times on a hard surface. Second, there is also rattling once you insert any full mag into the gun (without chambering a round). I suspect this has to do with an internal component since it happens with both mags. Third, the left rubber grip was somewhat loose and I tried tightening it carefully but it remained the same. I ended up ordering aftermarket hard grips. Finally the third issue, which surprised me the most, the gun is not as accurate. I went to the range to shoo it the first time along with another new pistol I purchased, an HK VP9SK (both 9mm). I took turns shooting both, with a total of 250 rounds for each pistol. The HK was significantly more accurate than the CZ Rami. It took considerable skill to have the Rami shoot accurately. \\r\ \\r\ I contacted CZ via email and their answer to these issues and the response is what bothered me the most. The response to the magazine issue was "Loaded CZ mags often rattle when fully loaded. No clue why but it does not impact their serviceability." The rattling when a full mag is inserted what ignored. For the loose grip, I was told to simply tighten the screw. Lastly, I was told "Each CZ pistol is mechanically cycled 500 times at the factory before it is prepared for shipping. I suggest you hit the range and put some rounds through it." I expect for every gun I purchase to be 100% ready out of the box and without defects. I know that is only posible in a perfect world. On the positive side, the gun does feel well build, solid and tough. It did take three different brand of rounds without a single issue. However, I believe is unacceptable the several issues I found with it. Even if they seem minor for some. Even worse, CZ did not offer to take responsibility for any of these issues. I still enjoy the CZ Rami and these issues might fade away with more use. Maybe the gun has a brake in point it needs to reach. Nevertheless, I feel somewhat responsible to share my experience with my first CZ for other users to learn from. Which is why I didn't give it a 5 star review. I do have my eye on other CZ models that have a more significant positive reputation and hopefully this issues won't repeat with those.
