Didn't run with 8...
Didn't run with 8 founders that arrived with it. Last round in both magazines would fail to feed and lock up slide completely. Aftermarket 7 rounders functioned perfectly. The only complaint with the gun itself is it's inability to eject chambered rounds. Have to lock the slide back and jiggle the round out of the mag well to clear the pistol unfortunately. This occurred with 230gr ball and haven't tried other ammo yet

As a huge fan of...
As a huge fan of 1911s, I was excited to try my first Dan Wesson and chose the A2 Commander after seeing nothing but high praise for it on gun forums. The gun arrived to my FFL with some cosmetic damage. However, the gun was super tight and the fit was beyond anything I've seen on a production 1911. All parts are tool steel and hand fit. It's a wonder the gun doesn't cost more. I contacted Dan Wesson/CZ and they took care of the cosmetic issues right away and paid for shipping. I ran 150 trouble free rounds through it, both FMJ and JHP, before sending it off. I like this gun so much I plan on buying the full size A2. You can't go wrong with Dan Wesson 1911's.

I own about a dozen...
I own about a dozen 1911's from Rock Island to Kimber to Wilson Combat. The Dan Wesson A2 is far and away my favorite. Only have about 350 rounds thru it (so not quite broken in) and zero issues. Don't expect any either. The fit and finish are superb. Tight but slides like glass. Balance for me is perfect. It is commander size with arched MSH and fits my hand very well. I have an older CBOB that just doesn't hold a candle to it. I can hit a 6" plate at 25 yds consistently. Only the W/C CQB comes close, but it seems much heavier. Something about the balance of the DW A2 really tames the recoil. You just know quality when feel it ,and believe me, the A2 has it.
