This pistol is a masterpiece of workmanship. Fired 300 rounds for break in zero malfunctions of any type. Accuracy is very good on par with the best 1911's I have experienced. Do not hesitate if you want one of the best 1911's available purchase it.

I've only put 150...
I've only put 150 rounds through it but it has been flawless so far. Wasn't 100% sure how I'd like a 4.25" barrel but now I'm a believer. The gun just runs like a dream and fits so well in my hand. It may turn out to be my favorite 1911. However, it's going to compete with my 9mm Valor, .45 Specialist and the outstanding Pointman .38 Super.

Reviewed here is a new Dan Wesson Valor Commander Stainless Steel 45ACP. Fit and finish is impeccable; slide-to-frame is tight, with smooth as butter operation. Everything that makes Dan Wesson a premier product is present. Balance is perfect, weight is just right for stable firing yet easy concealment and portability. Initial cleaning then range trip resulted in no failures of any sort, just as one would expect from DW. Field strip was performed easily without need for any tools or soft hammers. As to accuracy, well, the Valor shines and punches holes exactly where I aimed, from 5 yards to 25 yards. It's a Dan Wesson, what do you expect? Yes, it is (relatively) expensive, and I already own a Springfield RO, Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander and a Dan Wesson CCO...but the Valor is my favorite among that group of fantastic 1911's. Customer service from Bud's was equally impeccable; in addition, I have already purchased ammunition from Bud's as well, and can vouch for their super fast and accurate service. Thanks, Bud's!
