I toiled over which...
I toiled over which 1911 to buy... Having sold my Kimber and regretting it. I saw this PhD in a couple of magazines both online and in print. I liked the looks and specs. Unfortunately, while the gun looks great and feels great... It has issues. I sent it back to doublestar and they were very responsive although not very adept at fixing the issue. It turned out to be a problem with the sear pin which I replaced myself. They either installed a bent one or ones that bend easily. That caused the safety to not function, on the first try... And function incorrectly on the second. This is an entry model by doublestar... Maybe it doesn't get the love of the more expensive ones they put out. Another issue is the xs sights. They get glued into this pistol with red loctite per xs instructions... Pistol shoots low and left. Now I gotta deal with that. I kinda liked the idea of the sites, but not happy about them not shipping this pistol as dead on as possible knowing how much of a pain it's gonna be to move these sights. I hate to leave a poor review. I'm sure I will get this thing the way I want it. But at this price I should have stuck with a Colt probably. Darn it.
