Product Overview
The Ed Brown Kobra Commander Bobtail 1911-style pistol is built for shooters who want the feel of a smaller 1911 while keeping the reliability standards Ed Brown is known for. The 4.25-inch Commander Bobtail configuration trims the overall profile at the rear while maintaining full-size frame and magazine capacity. The Kobra series features a distinctive snake-skin directional surface treatment that’s smooth on the draw stroke and securely gripping the other way when your hand needs it.
Key Features

I really wanted to...
I really wanted to write a rave review on this firearm. I think anyone who spends this kind of money on a 1911 expects to be blown away by fit, finish, trigger, performance... Not ever having seen one in person I was hoping for this experience. I recently purchased a new DW Classic and a Colt Special Combat Government which did not disappoint when they arrived, these guns were nicely fit and finished. Triggers broke clean with no creep whatsover on either pistol, although the DW was fit a bit tighter. So add another grand on top of what I spent on each of these two guns and I should have a real gem in the EB... The gun arrived, I inspected it per Bud's policy and decided to take it home. The gun IS finished nicely and tolerances are very tight, but the trigger had noticeable amount of creep in it. For those of you familiar with a finely tuned 1911 trigger you expect the hammer to fall unexpectedly as the result of a gentle squeeze. Not so here, there was one, two, and three slight movements of the trigger against the sear before it broke. The trigger left me wondering why I spent the extra dollars for the EB. The flipside is that customer service at EB (Renea Brown) was outstanding! They paid for shipping and turned the gun around in 3 days. As I write this I am waiting for it to return. I used the free ride to EB to add a couple of custom features as well, which was nice. In the final analysis, my EB Kobra Carry 9mm was a bit underwhelming out of the box, but great customer service and a lifetime warranty is worth paying some extra dollars for.
