Description
All USP\'s use a fiber-reinforced polymer frame stiffened by stainless steel inserts at areas subject to stress and friction. The USP control lever, a combination safety and decocking lever, is frame mounted and quickly accessible, unlike the slide-mounted safeties common on many semi-automatic pistols. The USP recoil reduction system is insensitive to ammunition types and requires no special adjustment or maintenance. The modular design of the USP\'s internal components allows the control lever function to be switched from the left to the right side of the pistol for left-handed shooters. The USP can also be converted from one type of trigger firing mode to another. Variant 7 is a double action without control lever (no manual safety/decocking lever).

This is as excellent...
This is as excellent of a pistol as you would expect. I consider the USP .45 the king of the polymer .45s and about one of the best production .45s going. It is very soft shooting for a .45, aided by the beefy H&K recoil assembly. Construction, machining and fit are done as only H&K can in a polymer, superb. Some might poo poo the H&K price premium, but when you hold it in your hand, or compare it to other polymer pistols, it is apparent that you are getting something a notch or two above the others in terms of build quality. As stated in the item description, this is trigger group variant 7, meaning that there is no control lever / safety and the hammer is not spurred. When the slide is racked the hammer is partially pre-cocked. Trigger take up is very light until you hit some resistance and then you have a very short pull of about a 7-ish pounds to fire, but it doesn't feel like that because the pull is so short at that point. The slide will reciprocate and then you can let the trigger out to a very short reset with about a .25 inch pull for the next shot. Once you get the hang of hit, you can operate the LEM trigger very fast. It's smooth and consistent. If at some point in the future you wish to do so, you may have a gunsmith or H&K convert it to another trigger variant for relatively little cost. I prefer the LEM and have it on most of my H&Ks. As usual Buds handled everything great. Firearm arrived in a timely manner and as expected. Will do business again soon.
