For the money it is a reliable gun. It works, it is kind of interesting to shoot, if you have the money, get something more refined.

Not a concealed carry...
Not a concealed carry weapon. The magazine pokes out an extra 1/2 inch and the pistol itself is bulky and heavy. That said, it shoots geat. I haven't had any trouble with jams. This is a good solid gun for a lot less than the name brands. If you don't mind the extra bulk and weight, your wallet will thank you.

I purchased the Hi...
I purchased the Hi Point JHP 45 for 2 reasons. I found a case of 45 ammo in my safe from my sons old Glock he sold and #2 ,I have never owned or really wanted a 45 ACP. After reading the reviews on the Hi Point, I wasnt sure I had made a wise choice. So today 2/18/2020 I finally got a chance to take it out and load it up. First of all, all the complaints of the weight. This is a hi powered hand gun, I dont think you want a feather for this. The looks. Multiple comments of how it looks and how ugly it is. This is of no concern to me as at 60 yr old, looks are not that important as much as performance. I loaded the magazine, chambered the first cartridge and ,FTF. The slide did not completely close. Chambered another round, Bang, bang bang. No problems, finished the mag. Reloaded full mag, no failures, again and again and again. Ran a couple of cowboy mags,no issues. 100 rounds, 1 issue, the first cartridge. I had a grip on this ole girl, way too tight, she is smooth, very little recoil as I expected much more. Compared to my M&P Shield 40 , much less. I wish I would have had more rounds to run thru her. Pattern was 1.5 from 25 ft. 2 inches to the right. Made a couple of adjustments on windage and was able to move it to the left but need a little more. My Friend shot it and his results were about the same. So what did I think? I have been using handguns and long guns since I was 5 yrs old. Dad was a LEO and taught me young how to use and care for firearms. I did not make a bad choice with the Hi Point. For what I paid new ?? Made in America, lifetime warranty. This is what I wanted. A 45 that works, tight pattern, low maintenance. I can buy any gun I want. and need no more . Kinda like Bass lures, alway need more. Now I think Im going to get a 9 mm and possibly the Carbine Hi Point to go with it. The 45, lt will live in the console or the backpack. Will not replace my M&P 40 for a concealed carry with the Hi Point, but will for sure buy more from this company. And as Far as my transaction from Buds, as smooth as the 45. Sent to my local FFL and packaged well. Dont let the negative reports keep you from buying a Hi Point. All guns have a bad one every so often, ALL OF THEM. Not this one, works like a charm. End result ,a big ole hole and a happy Hi Point owner and Buds customer.
