This is an excellent pistol. Fit and finish are fantastic, it's one of my favorite 1911's that I've owned. My favorite part is the trigger. It's the best trigger I've had on any pistol I've ever owned, and that's out of a LOT of guns! It is smooth and SO crisp. A tiny bit of take up, a very definitive wall, and then the cleanest break and shortest, smoothest reset I've ever felt. I haven't measured the pull weight, but it can't be more than 3-3.5 lbs. Everything about it is perfect.\\r\ While I can't say enough good things about this pistol, there were some complications with it as well. First of all, I live in MD (not my choice, I'm active duty military) so I have to be very careful about which handguns I order. That means the manufacturer and model number is critical for my orders. The ad for this weapon gives the manufacturer as Magnum Research and the model as DE1911C. While this wasn't exactly wrong, it wasn't exactly right either. The pistol arrived in a Magnum Research box, so far so good. Upon inspection of the pistol itself, it has both Magnum Research and BUL LTD etched on the frame. Okay, so MR is the manufacturer and BUL LTD is the importer. Not clear in the description, but okay. The big problem is that the model number engraved on the slide was not DE1911C as given in the description, but MR1911CSS. For those of you not living in a restrictive handgun state that probably doesn't make a bit of difference. But for those of us in states like MD, it very nearly resulted in the FFL shipping the gun back to Bud's and me being SOL. Because the model number didn't match what was on the list of approved handguns for the state, the FFL dealer had to sort a bunch of issues out with the state police, jump through hoops and find a round about way to be able to legally transfer the weapon to me. Luckily for me, I go to a FFL dealer here who is AMAZING and was willing to put in all of that extra time and effort just because "it's a beautiful gun, we want to make sure we do everything we can to get it into your hands." So it all ended up okay for me, thanks to my FFL dealer. But just having an accurate description online would have saved me all that trouble. Also, I was looking forward to the engraved "DESERT EAGLE" on the slide that is shown in the ad. Buuuuut....that was not present on the weapon. Again, not a big deal, but I was disappointed.
