The Masterpiece Arms...
The Masterpiece Arms Defender in 5.7x28mm offers an interesting design, but I ultimately found it wasn't the right fit for my current needs and returned it. While the 5.7x28mm round is inherently smooth-shooting with almost no recoil, the firearm itself feels significantly front-heavy and poorly balanced. For a shooter of my age dealing with osteoarthritis, the weight distribution made it quite taxing to hold steady during a session. I found the ergonomics lacking; the grip and overall frame felt uncomfortable and somewhat clunky in the hand. Despite the side-cocking mechanism being a neat feature, it didn't compensate for the physical strain caused by the pistol's bulk. It is certainly well-built, but it lacks the refined comfort of more modern polymer-framed handguns. For those with joint issues or anyone prioritizing a natural point of aim, the physical demands of this platform might be a dealbreaker. Ultimately, while the performance was reliable, the ergonomics simply didn't align with my physical requirements.
