A: Yes the upper for the MK4 already is drilled and tapped to accept a top rail for a red dot per Ruger's main website, but I don't know if they'd provide the rail or not. More than likely they don't, but hey if you do get one with your purchase consider it a bonus. If not, you can buy on from Buds if they sell one or purchase from Ruger's shop page, they're about $15 plus shipping, could be flat rate; which is about $6 more or less.

A: Yes: Either Weaver-Style or Picatinny-Style rails. There are even "Combo: style mounts that give you frame rail options as well. A: Only for models made before June first. They have been shipping out the updated pistols since July 5th. Worst case scenario you get one with a serial that puts it in the recalled batch and Ruger will fix it for free.

A: All Mark IV™ pistols produced prior to June 1, 2017 are potentially affected and therefore are being recalled. This includes Mark IV™ Target, Hunter, Competition, 22/45™, 22/45™ Lite and 22/45™ Tactical models. These models bear serial numbers beginning with "401" (2017 models) or "WBR" (2016 models). Newly manufactured Mark IV™ pistols will begin with serial number "500." Thus, if you have a Mark IV™ or 22/45™ pistol with a serial number beginning with the number "5," your pistol is not subject to the recall. They may not have this info immediately so have them ask their "inventory" dept/manager to get you the information you need before you buy.
