Very pleased with this pistol. Out of the box we were nailing expired yogurt tubs. I made a couple of clicks for windage and it was what I hoped for in bullet placement. Highly recommend.

As the owner of a 4...
As the owner of a 4 5/8" Standard (Mk I) and 6.5" bull barrel MkII Ruger pistol, the Mk IV finally solves the take down and cleaning issues we all hate, plus it allows for different uppers to be utilized on the same frame with a 1-minute switch of the parts. Additional uppers can be found at some aftermarket gun seller's sites to increase versatility. I paid 35 bucks for a 5.5" bull barrel upper and now have two guns. (The uppers on Ruger pistols have the serials not the lowers, so a new upper will have to go through a FFL.) Originally a bit gritty, the trigger pull was OK. Maybe after a detail strip and cleaning, followed up with years of use, would smooth it out to match the triggers on my other pistols. I wasn't patient enough to wait that long. I will recommend that Volquartsen or similar aftermarket trigger parts be installed to really make the gun shine. The magazine release is no longer in the heel, which is nice unless you use thumbrest target grips like I do for my target guns. I had to Dremel out some extra relief space for the magazine release button in order to drop the mags with the wider target stocks. Accuracy is really good no matter what I shoot through it, and with a 10" barrel the pistol velocity is pretty close to what a .22 rifle will do. So far it has been very reliable with a variety of .22 ammo, even the bulk-pack stuff that is about all that the post-COVID world has on the shelves now. The uppers are drilled/tapped for scope or dot sights, but I left the 10" open-sighted to make use of the extended sight radius. If you're looking for a dedicated target .22, I think that the Mk IV 10" model is hard to beat.
