This is a sort of...
This is a sort of small ccw and it has been so exceptional that it made me pay more attention to the m&p line. It's not a really tiny ccw and with a full magazine it's hefty, so I find it works best for me in an iwb kydex holster. But with that understood, it's still reasonably small for a full capacity ccw (you can use the larger full size m&p mags to get full size capacity,) accurate for it's size, and has been completely reliable, and the laser makes for a nice combo when the whether is cool enough for an iwb and jacket.

Snappy, but fun to...
Snappy, but fun to shoot. My one gripe is that the recoil causes it to rub the skin right off the top of second knuckle on my thumb. I have tried solving this with gloves and bandaids. The pistol runs just as flawlessly as my full size M&P .45 with the two supplied mags. The grip integrated laser is a really nice feature, too. However, when fed with the full size mags with the x-grip extensions (way more comfortable to shoot with), I get an occasional failure to feed... the flat head round is jammed between the bottom of the feed ramp and the part that strips the round off the mag. When jammed like this, a slide rack is the only way to clear the malfunction, as the round is still held in the top of the mag which prevents it from dropping when the mag release is pressed. I have determined that this is caused by my grip on the mag extension, which causes the mag to sort of rotate, causing the top round to point down at the bottom of the feed ramp. A similar malfunction happens with an M-16 when fired with the rifle resting on the magazine against the ground, I think. I have considered using a small shim or something on the full size mags to prevent this, but haven't tested the theory yet. As a guy with full sized hands and a fairly strong grip, the recoil is perfectly manageable, if not exactly fun. I could see how this would really hurt if you had small hands, though. I have no regrets for this purchase and have put several thousand rounds through it.
