A: These are not discontinued, Springfield just announced them at SHOT Show '18... The two tone stainless models came out first, the black finish is just starting to ship now (per Springfield) and there are other versions with lasers coming in the future.

A: Joe, 300+ rounds seem to be the norm for break in on this model. A feed ramp polishing can never hurt and will likely improve feeding once you rule out the magazines.

A: Joe, it should function fine. By force of habit I function check and mark my magazines as there are the occasional lemon in magazines as well. Out of spec follower, spring, not assembled correctly or magazine wall being dent is not too far fetched.

A: Joe, I own multiple Springfield weapons and have yet to have a factory defect with any of them. Some, like many weapons, will shoot one load more accurately than another, even in the same model, but even that tends to even out after the break-in period.
