Recently picked this...
Recently picked this up from Buds. The promotion going on certainly helped but Buds cash price was more than competitive. Great little ccw with tremendous capacity. 15+1 is perfect for the home and the other 11+1 is great for everyday. This is a great out of trouble fast tool. Tritium sight great fit feel and a crisp trigger with nice reset. This is really just about being able to defend yourself. It is perfect for that job.

The high capacity...
The high capacity micro compact 9mm trend really took off after the introduction of the Sig P365. The Springfield Hellcat is a product of that trend but improves on the P365 on several important ways. First is the ammo capacity, holding 1 more round in both the flush fit magazine and the slightly extended magazines that come with the firearm. And the second is having a non-proprietary accessory rail. Not sure if Sig changed this since, but when it was first introduced, its accessory rail was not the 1913 rail standard we're all so used to. It was a proprietary rail specifically for the P365. For me, anything with proprietary in it is a no-go. The other competitor that sprung up from this new trend is the Smith&Wesson Shield Plus. The Shield Plus' flush fit magazine is the same as the P365, so 1 less than the Hellcat, and the slightly extended one is 13 like the Hellcat, so 1 more than the P365. Where the Hellcat is better compared to the Shield Plus is the Shield Plus doesn't have an accessory rail at all. The other area where the Hellcat is exceptional compared to basically all of its competitors is mechanical accuracy and reliability. It's probably the most reliable out of the high capacity micro-compacts out there as tested by many people. And personally this is my second Hellcat, I am sending one out to get custom work done and didn't want to be without a carry pistol so I bought this one, lol. And I've shot several hundred rounds out of this one (not a lot, granted) and over 1000 rounds out of my original one and never had any malfunctions of any kind with either. Well, except for 1 faulty 9mm, I pressed the trigger on the Hellcat and click, no bang. I waited for a few seconds in case it was a hangfire, but nothing, so I ejected the round and sure enough, there was a positive strike on the primer, not at all a light strike, so just a faulty round, which is very rare... On top of its reliability, it's also very accurate. As long as you're a good enough shooter, it's not hard at all to get extremely tight groups with the Springfield Hellcat. Now there are a few cons to the Hellcat. The first one I would say is the trigger. It's not terrible, but it's definitely worse than a lot of its competition. However, I don't mind it because I always like customizing my guns anyway, so the first thing I do is install an Apex trigger in it and it's golden. With the Apex trigger installed it shoots like a dream. The second con is that it's supposedly more snappy to shoot. Now, I don't know if it's just weak shooters who say this, because I've heard it from several people online, but I've shot a ton of rounds out of my original one and I've had several females try it and nobody's had any issues with being able to control the recoil before. I've tried shooting it side by side with a P365, and I would have to say that the difference is so minimal I don't really see it as something worth docking it for. So I would say the main thing is the trigger. If it came from the factory with a great trigger, it would be a 5-star pistol easily.
