A: it could be either Made and assembled in Brazil or made in Brazil and assembled in Geneseo IL USA the only way to tell is by the S/N NXXXXXX = Brazil S/N NMxxxxxx = assembled in Geneseo IL Buds will not give out S/Ns it is luck of the draw but either place is a quality 1911 so no worries there

A: Unless it's really old stock it's made in the US. I haven't seen any Brazilian ones in a few years. The easiest way to tell is by removing the slide and seeing if the ejector is held in by a pin that goes through the frame or if the pin is not present and it's loctited in. The pinned ones are from Brazil and the loctited ones are US.
