I love the gun. Bought aftermarket wood grip and it is way more pleasant to shoot. The stock setup had the trigger guard hitting my finger when fired no matter how I held it. With the new grip, this thing is a handheld cannon.

Overall like the pistol. Oddly it has a bulge on the bottom of the barrel between the electorate rod housing and the muzzle. I checked out the bored and it looks perfect. Doesn't appear to be from a squib load or obstruction. I think it was just a flaw in the machining of the barrel itself.

If you are the kind of...
If you are the kind of person who winces when firing a 9mm or prefers 9mm over anything else because of "more manageable recoil", then this IS NOT THE GUN FOR YOU! If, however, you like the feeling of raw power in your hands and get a rush of adrenaline when you hear the thunderous boom & see the muzzle flash & feel the incredible power of .44 Magnum- you will love this beast!!! This is a BIG, HEAVY gun, they don't get any tougher than Ruger revolvers, and this one is the king of the hill. When the clerk at the local FFL that transferred it for me opened the box, he said "Holy ****, you got yourself a cannon!" and he couldn't be more correct. Awesome gun, had to turn the sight 2 clicks to the right to be right on the mark at 30 yards, and that may just be me, as I tend to shoot a little left. Highly recommend, Ruger craftsmanship is legendary, as is customer service at BUD'S- spend the $1000, trust me, it's worth it! Be sure to get a good grip on it for that first round though! And if you are concerned whether you can handle it- yes, it's quite manageable, and you can always shoot .44 SPL rounds, and that shoots as easy as a .38.
