The action on this...
The action on this pistol is smooth as glass. The timing is perfect so it shouldn't get that ring of wear on the cylinder. I liked the larger grip which made single hand use really easy. Out of the 50 rounds I fired there was 5 light primer strikes that wouldn't fire. I'm guessing it's from the lightened springs. I don't see this as a major negative against this awesome pistol as I only had one type of ammo to try.

A beautiful firearm....
A beautiful firearm. Uberti fit and finish is excellent. The Taylor tuned action is amazing. Very smooth, no creep, and a really nice light crisp trigger pull. It is getting better the more I shoot it. Over 200 rounds fired through it so far. Sights are right on and at 18yds it is capable of 1 1/2 inch groups or better with tuned ammo.

What a wonderful...
What a wonderful 1873SAA. For those with a larger hand, this one has the 'Army' grip which is larger than the standard. The 'DE' Deluxe is Taylors (Uberti) 'Custom Shop' and the action feels 'Custom'. I was lucky enough to compare the 5001 and the 5001DE at a show and the difference in the trigger and overall action is unbelievable. The 5001DE stands alone! After 500 rounds the action that felt like 'Butter' when out of the box now feels like 'Softened Butter'... The trigger has been customized too.. Coming in between 1 and 2 pounds pull. Fit, finish etc.. Outstanding. Recommended!
