As always, a very fast process through buds. This rifle is incredibly light weight, and a tack driver straight out of the box. It cycles 45gr and 38gr subsonic reliably as well. Although the design makes it suited for target, it's my new favorite small game rifle.

Be warned, this...
Be warned, this Bergara BXR does not come as listed. I received mine today and upon inspection after taking delivery of it, I discovered it does not have the rear access hole on the receiver for cleaning. I contacted Bergara and was told that their engineer decided to make a change and we all just need to live with it because that's how the original Ruger 10/22 came. This gun was also supposed to be compatible with any Ruger 10/22 barrel, but apparently they eliminated that as well and the receiver no longer has the threaded bolt holes for the V-block and the barrel is no longer swappable. Those two things are the only reason I chose the Bergara BXR over other options such as building my own with the Brownells or Faxon receiver or just going with the Ruger 10/22 Competition model. This is seriously the worst and only firearms purchase I have ever fully regretted. Total bait and switch marketing tactic. Obviously nobody is going to completely take down a firearm before taking delivery of it and I felt reassured that it would be everything that they marketed especially since the tag on the gun that was zip tied to the sling swivel lug on the stock that listed all the options and benefits of this gun also listed "Easy Cleaning: Rear receiver access". Additionally, the manual that you can view on this web page prior to purchase and the same manual came in the box specifically says to clean the barrel from chamber to muzzle using the access hole and that not doing so can cause excessive wear and permanently affect accuracy. However, they didn't bother to let Buds know, update the owners manual, update the tags that are attached to the gun, or even make some sort of statement to the updated changes they made without anyone knowing. My opinion could be skewed a bit now, but as far as the rest of the gun goes and the performance of it, I was not at all impressed. It was getting somewhere around 2" to 2.5" groups at 100 yards using SK Rifle Match, SK Standard Plus, CCI Standard, and Norma Tac. I had several boxes of Lapua Center-X with me, but wasn't about to waste any additional money trying to make it group decent with expensive high end ammo when it's extremely hard to find right now. For my accuracy test, I was using a Arken EP5 5-25x56 scope in Arken rings and a Harris bod with rear sand bag. Just for comparison, I can regularly achieve sub .5" groups at 100 yards with my CZ 457 Varmint MTR using Lapua Center-X ammo. SK Rifle Match and SK Standard Plus are usually closer to .75" on average. I had a feeling that the barrel probably wouldn't live up to my standards, but was willing to accept that knowing the barrel could be swapped out with any other barrel that is made for a 10/22. However. that's the huge disappointment since the model I received can no longer be swapped with other barrels. I didn't have high expectations for this gun, I just had expectations that it would have the features and option they said it would have so that I could upgrade it later at some point. Honestly, I would have been better off buying a base model Ruger 10/22 for half the price of what I paid for this. This is honestly the worst firearms purchase I have ever made.
