I bought this rifle...
I bought this rifle for a introduction to the 35 Whelen cartridge. If I liked it I would think about getting a bolt action in this caliber. I cleaned the rifle good, put a 2.5x20 scope on, and by the way it does come with a one piece dead on scope mount. I bore sighted it at 25 yards, and went to the range. Placed target at 50 yards, after 2 shots dead center bulls eye. Man was I surprised using sand bags I put shot after shot through the same hole. Recoil was a big boom and push, not a loud pow and jolt. By the way the rifle weighed 7.3 lbs when I first got it. I stuffed lead in the stock, and it now weighs 9.8 lbs. I was using 200g fusion ammo. This is now my favorite rifle and caliber. Buds service great.

Thanks again Buds! You guys are great! This rifle is a tack driver. I suggest lapping the scope rings first, clean the bore, then add some weight to the hollow butt stock and you're good to go. This CVA Stalker is much better quality than the Scout. The fit and finish is very good. It breaks open smooth and shuts smooth. Trigger pull is smooth. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and dealing with Buds always has good results. JP
