Daniel Defense’s M4A1 RIS II rifle in Flat Dark Earth is an AR-15 pattern, carbine-length direct impingement platform built around the USSOCOM-used SOPMOD II rail system concept. It uses a low profile gas system and a proprietary Daniel Defense pistol grip and 6-position adjustable buttstock with soft-touch overmolding at contact points. The barrel is 14.5 in with a pinned and welded 1.5 in flash hider to bring the overall barrel length to 16 in for NFA compliance.
