The DPMS Panther Carbine is a classic, entry-level DPMS AR-15 style rifle built around a 5.56 NATO chamber that also accepts .223 Remington. It features an 11.5-inch 4140 chrome moly steel heavy barrel with a permanently attached 5.5-inch flash suppressor, forged A2 upper receiver with fixed carry handle, and a standard A2 front sight base for reliable iron-sight use.

Bought this gun a few...
Bought this gun a few months ago from Buds, so far I have put about 500 rounds though it and has performed very well. Mechanical sights are accurate and construction, fit/finish are quality. This gun is extremely loud though, must have to do with the shorter barrel.

Great weapon, the velocity is'nt what it should be cause of the short barrel but with 1" grouping at 100 yards / iron sights who cares. I do have a bushnell for it to.Great service and pricing from buds.

I spent the better...
I spent the better part of a year trying to decide on a AR to purchase. I found article after article on the DPMS Panther carbines. This is a solid rifle and very well built, as well as made in the USA. It shoots very well and I would recommend it to everyone. After a long search I found one here at Bud's.
