With all the confusion...
With all the confusion about what is legal or not regarding AR15 pistols with braces, I decided to store mine until the laws become clear, Although they are not pistols, I thought I'd try out a bullpup rifle. I looked at the Steyr AUG, the Springfield Armory Hellion and the IWI Tavor X95.I decided on the KelTec RDB Defender due to being easier to accessorize, being ambidextrous and a significant price advantage. It draws attention at the range especially the downward ejection. Going thru 200 rounds at this point It has functioned without any issues.

Great little rifle....
Great little rifle. I've shot M16A1/A2/A3 and M4A1A2 throughout my Army career. Nothing wrong with the AR platform at all. However, I wanted something different than just another AR rifle. I always thought that the bullpup design was unique and worth having. I wanted to keep the 5.56/.223 round as there are billions of rounds of that caliber in the U.S. The Defender takes standard AR magazines. So, all of your AR 20 and 30 round magazines work just fine. Which is super convenient since I have quite a few of them on hand. The weapon just feels good shooting it. Once I zeroed it... I was shooting tight groups at 50 and 100 yards with very little effort. A unique feature... empty casings eject downwards right behind the magazine well. I liked it... as long as you don't shoot a bunch of rounds in a short-sleeved shirt. The old combat soldier in me is thinking, that in a sustained firefight from a prone position, downward ejecting hot brass constantly ejecting near neck might start being quite the painful distraction. Overall though, this weapon has met or exceeded my expectations. I would be more than happy to take it into combat as a primary weapon.
