I don't really know...
I don't really know why I bought this rifle but I saw it on Buds on sale for $500 below msrp so I took a chance. The flat dark red color looks way better in person and it had a few customers at my local ffl asking about it. The tolerances on this rifle is what you'd expect from LWRCI. In fact I'm already looking at the IC A5 in 5.56 for my next purchase. The bcg looks like a work of art and the trigger must have been polished cause it's way better than milspec. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet as I am waiting for my Eotec to be delivered.

I'm an AR newby, but...
I'm an AR newby, but as a rule I do research before I pay a lot of money for anything and for me $1500 is a lot of money. Consensus on the net was LWRCI rifles had a reputation for high end, high quality rifles. I know the most important aspect is performance, but I got to admit, out of the box it's a tough looking rifle. They call the color flat dark red, but it's identical to the color of dried blood which, with the black furniture gave it a WOW! look. My son, who's a gunner's mate in the Navy, took it apart and gave it a once over, making all the parts click-clack and what not, like they show military people do. He was also impressed with the color, but moreover he liked the ambidextrous controls, the chromed bolt carrier, and the quality. When he was done he kept repeating, "I like this." So I guess it was a good purchase. I've taken it out and fired it several times, never had an issue. Sorry I can't get more technical, but for what it's worth that's what I can share about the rifle.
