These are pretty nice...
These are pretty nice rifles. Very solidly built. Definitely worth the extra money over inferior products like the Century C308's. One of the only criticisms I'd have on these is that the triggers aren't great, but that was true even of the original HK91's and G3's. It's just the nature of these being "battle rifles" and having combat triggers. It would be worth the money to get an upgraded trigger/trigger pack for a lighter trigger. Another factor to consider is if you're running a magnified optic, you'll have to do some research as to which scope rings to use to get your rifle to the proper height. If you're scope rings are too low, the rear iron sight will likely prevent your scope from being installed. You have the option of removing the rear sight (be careful, there are small some small, easy to lose pieces inside) allowing you to mount a low-sitting scope, in which case the hood of the front iron sight will almost certainly interfere with your sight picture. So, the best solution is to use see-through rings, which will allow you to still use your iron sights, while elevating your scope to a height where it isn't interfered with by either the front or rear iron sights. If you get one of the PTR-91's with no rail on top you can use one of the old German claw mounts, which puts your scope at the perfect height. So, like most old battle rifles, modernizing it isn't always the easiest task. But as far as build quality, performance, and historical value, they excell.
