A: The Ruger factory magazines run best in this rifle but I found Tapco worked well also. It hooks in the front and rotates in like the original M-14 mags.

A: Tom, no Sir. This Mini 14 model has an 18.5" Cold Hammer Forged non threaded Barrel. (You would need to get a threaded model or get a threaded barrel).

A: Terry, Both great firearms. My personal opinion is model 5802 with the Stainless Steel. Even though it come with 4 round magazine. Ruger makes a great 25 round magazine that you would probably add to either model. The bluing is sure pretty on model 5816 and comes with 20 round magazine.
