A: Craig, no the barrel is not threaded. It does have a heavy varmint style barrel so a gunsmith could easily thread it for you. I just bought the Savage 93r17 btvs Wich is basically the same rifle but bolt action and fantastic rifle, very accurate. I also plan on getting a gunsmith to thread it. Sorry but hope this helps.
