SAD, Savage used to be...
SAD, Savage used to be a great company. My first deer rifle was a 111. I got my axis 2 about 1 month before a hunting trip. I gave it a good cleaning before taking it to the range, but failed to look closely at the feed ramp. I fired 4 different premium ammos in it. Accuracy was great with the second cheapest (Federal Fusion). Unfortunately I noticed part way in that there was an issue with feeding. After looking closer, I noticed the gouging in the feed ramp that was blued over. I contacted them and told them it was brand new. They told me I would have to pay to have it shipped back to them and there was no chance of them giving me money or credit to pay for my range fee again and some ammo to sight it in. Some terrible customer service mixed with terrible quality control = no more savages for me. A real shame.
