I own an older Mauser...
I own an older Mauser action custom built, wood stocked, heavy barrel 22-250 that must weigh 10 lbs. It shoots great but is a pain to carry across bean fields. I got this because of its weight, but with the right loads it's every bit as accurate as the 10 lb beast. Shooting 50 grain handloads I get dime-sized groups at 100 yards with a 20X fixed powered scope. At least for the first 3 rounds. Threaded barrel is a nice addition for the price. Stock is ok, I'd say slightly better than Savage.
