This gun is a beast....
This gun is a beast. It shoots 1/2 groups with several of my handloads, and another 60% shoot under an inch. That is great for a 300 win mag, in my opinion. I reload a lot of bullets for this gun, and the weight of the gun absorbs the recoil, along with the muzzlebrake. It's like shooting a .243. The adjustable cheek piece is perfect for the high mounted precision scopes I use, and is very comfortable at a range. Using AICS mags helps, because I can go from 3 round hunting mags ,to 10 round range mags. They are a little forgiving with reloads to shoot bullets seated further out than SAMMI OAL. I have never had a Weatherby gun before, but I may be in the market for another, soon. As far as a gun for hunting, this gun may not be the first choice. I'm 74 and I use it when hunting from a shack that is not far from the road. If I am going to be still hunting ,I have a lightweight Tikka that is better in my opinion, for that type of hunting. Would I recommend this gun? Without a doubt.
