Stock is very nice....
Stock is very nice. Deluxe walnut as described. Blueing deep and perfect. Brass joints can't even be seen. Such a pretty piece. I like to run around in my woods pretending to be Chief Joseph. Might be my weak handloads or the open top design of the action, but I get a little blowback to the forehead. Nothing like a little powder and combustion gas to the dome to let you know you are holding an amazing time machine.

Well, after reading...
Well, after reading all the outstanding reviews about these Miroku Winchesters, I decided to buckle down and buy one. In my case it was a huge mistake. The first issue is that the preservative oil used during packaging left all kinds of dark brown spots and lines on the brass receiver. It took about two hours of polishing with Flitz to get it back to normal. Then there is the slightly loose forend that slides forward and backwards about 1/64 of an inch making a clicking sound. Finally during shooting, I noticed that if I cycle the lever too slowly, the lifter will not pick up the next shell from the magazine. A $500 dollar Rossi is better quality than this $1500 Winchester.

A truly magnificent...
A truly magnificent firearm. I own multiple Miroku Winchesters and multiple original Winchesters and find the quality of the Japanese made rifles exceptional. Exceedingly happy with my purchase. Wood has great character and overall fit and finish is superb. Action is smooth as silk unlike my Uberti 1866 which took some work. No regrets on this purchase.
